ATV and Motorcycle Helmets

This was a great article about why all riders, even bicycle riders, should where a helmet. I'm glad that you could write about his survival versus the alternative. Helmets are definitely the number one piece of protective gear. We ride ATVs, not motorcycles, and in October we stayed overnight in Albany WY on our way to Yellowstone and rented some ATVs for a half day of riding. When asked if we wanted helmets we were actually surprised that they weren't mandatory. We of course said "yes" and the proprietor commented that it was the people that said "No" tended to have the most accidents. It makes no sense that 49 states have seat belt laws and less than half have helmet laws. Does your brother still ride?

Frank Druschel

A helmet is critical to surviving for surviving both ATV and motorcycle accidents! Since 2005,in ATV related fatalities 94% of the victims were not wearing a helmet at the time of their accident. Obviously the odds are against you if you decide not to wear a helmet! Ride at your own risk!

That's me. I'm a single mama in the city who is an editor, writer and social media host. I wear inappropriately high heels to the playground and know too much about light sabers.
